Dude, Where's My Homework?

As a student of the #3 ranked Marketing program in the United States, I know a good education when I see it. The Business Honors Program has taught me to network, create a dynamic presentation, and manage an effective team. The ESCP has taught me a very different lesson. What lesson you ask? It's hard to say really.

Let's examine my course schedule:

1. Negotiation - My father is a professional negotiator. I was arguing before I could walk.
2. U.S. Cinema - Double-feature Friday's with Mom & Chris.
3. Brand Management - My mother worked for Chanel. I worked for HP. They taught me well. I know a good brand when I see one, now I guess I know why...?
4. International Consulting - Don't let being a successful consultant turn you into an arrogant prick. And go to Israel, it's a beautiful country.
5. Marketing Communications - HP America's Marketing, see course #3.

Am I being cynical? Or did I just turn into one of the elitist Frenchies that is above going to class? Let's hope not. Let's just say that I was not nearly as challenged inside the classroom as I was outside. A three-hour lecture only reaches a certain type of student. A class discussion, variety of small-group assignments, or even requiring the purchase of a textbook might reach another. Good thing I chose to study for my ONE final at the school bar.
